Introduction to Eco Empires: Battle for the Earth

Eco Empires is a unique massively multiplayer online real-time strategy (MMORTS) game that combines strategy, adventure and environmental awareness. The game is developed by Carbify, a company that is dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability through various means. Eco Empires provides players with a fun and engaging platform to learn about environmental issues, plant NFTrees and compete against each other for resources, territory and glory. In this blog, we will take a closer look at what Eco Empires is all about and what benefits you can expect from playing the game.

Gameplay Overview

In Eco Empires, players take on the role of a ruler who must gather resources, build structures and expand their territory in order to thrive and grow. The ultimate goal of the game is to conquer as much land as possible and plant as many NFTrees as you can. The more land you control, the more resources you can gather and the more NFTrees you can plant, which in turn will result in higher game rewards.

Players start the game by selecting one of the three available factions: The Frozen Vanguard, The Stormbringers, or The Waterborne. Each faction has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, so players must choose wisely based on their preferred playstyle. The Frozen Vanguard is fast-moving and excels in scouting, while The Stormbringers are known for their offensive power. The Waterborne is specialized in defense.

Once all the players have chosen their factions and the time to start has come, the dynamic landmap is generated in real-time and the game begins. The landmap is divided into plots, some of which are controlled by players or AI-controlled settlements and others are empty resource-rich plots. When players control a plot, they can harvest the resources on it and build structures, train troops and much more. The game is played from a bird’s eye view, much like classic strategy games such as Travian and Tribal Wars.

Players must constantly strive to expand their territory, gather resources and train their troops, all while defending their settlements from enemy attacks. Players can gain intel by using scouts and they can also join forces with other players in a guild or form alliances to gain a strategic advantage. To maximize their earnings, players must also offset their carbon emissions by planting NFTrees, which is a key aspect of the game’s “Compensate to Win” philosophy.

Structures and Units

Eco Empires features 15 different structures and 9 units per faction. The structures and units can be leveled up and their visuals change at certain levels, becoming more efficient and stronger. The game’s real-time nature means that players must think and act quickly in order to be successful, as there are constant battles for land and resources. In addition to the standard units, there is also a special unit type called the Hero, which provides players with unique advantages overall.

Attacks, arrival times of scouts, defenses and leveling up structures are all time-based and the calculations are based on a complex set of dependencies.

Rewards
In Eco Empires, players have the opportunity to reap substantial rewards by playing the game. If you already possess NFTrees and Landplots, then you’re in luck – these items alone are sufficient for you to excel in the game. However, it’s worth noting that in order to maximize your rewards, it’s best to plant as many NFTrees as possible. The more Landplots and NFTrees you own, the more you can attach in-game and secure a larger portion of the reward pool.
